Dual Core for All: Cherry Mobile Reveals its Hottest Android Smartphones


Adding even more diversity to its array of affordable Android devices, Cherry Mobile unveiled two new touchscreen smartphones designed for everyone on October 24, 2012.

The first handset is called FLARE – a dual-SIM, dual-standby device which offers a fast processor, a high-resolution display, and an elegant design suitable for all age groups and lifestyles. Powered by a speedy 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and integrated with an Opera Mini 7.5 browser, the Wi-Fi ready gizmo promises a smooth Web experience.

“We have always wanted to bring value to our customers by making the Android technology available to all Filipinos," said Cherry Mobile CEO Maynard Ngu. “The innovations on our Android smartphones affirm our commitment to deliver high quality products at very reasonable prices,” he added.

The Cherry Mobile FLARE is suitable for smartphone newbies as well as existing smartphone users who are looking for an upgrade in speed and functionality. It's lightweight, it's stylish, and it has a lot to offer.
But what sets FLARE apart from its competitors is the phone’s price tag. Despite its premium look and design, the unit can be bought for only Php3,999. It runs Android OS v4.0 (popularly known as Ice Cream Sandwich) and sports a 4-inch IPS Capacitive Touchscreen. A 5 megapixel snapper is present at the rear, along with a VGA front camera for video chat. It has 512 of RAM, 4GB of onboard storage and an expandable memory card slot. The phone even provides long-lasting battery performance for continuous mobile entertainment.

During the FLARE UP! event at One Esplanade, Cherry Mobile also introduced TITAN – a Php6,499 touchscreen smartphone which boasts a 5-inch capacitive display and a built-in FM radio. It comes with Android ICS out of the box and features a 1GHz dual core processor, a dual camera, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G connectivity and a microSD card slot complete the specs. TITAN is also preinstalled with the Opera Mini 7.5 browser which makes it a capable internet-browsing device.

On October 9, Cherry Mobile’s newest brand ambassador appeared before delighted guests at Dolcelatte Restaurant in Quezon City. Welcomed onstage by thunderous applause from bloggers, members of the press and media practitioners, the 24-year old Pop Princess proudly displayed her brand new handset.
